This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Before Day Zero gathers only what is needed to run your account and its features. We do not sell your information.
Information we collect
When you create an account or use features, we may collect your name, email address, and optional profile details such as region or household composition to size your protocol. We also collect limited technical data, such as device and browser type, and anonymized usage analytics to improve reliability. Household inventory is stored on your device first and synced to your account when you are signed in.
How we use it
- To provide core functionality: authentication, protocol personalization, saved preferences.
- To improve features, stability, and support through anonymized analytics.
- To send essential notices such as account and service changes.
- To protect the service from abuse, fraud, and security threats.
Storage and security
Data is stored in databases with least-privilege access controls. We use transport encryption (HTTPS) and standard practices to safeguard information. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we monitor and harden our infrastructure on an ongoing basis.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies or local storage to keep you signed in, remember settings, and hold your household inventory on the device. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features will not work. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with service providers that help us operate Before Day Zero, such as infrastructure, email, or analytics vendors, strictly for the purposes described here and under confidentiality commitments. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of our users and the service.
Your choices
- Update your profile from Account settings.
- Delete your account from Account settings, or request deletion by emailing support@beforedayzero.com.
- Opt out of non-essential email from Notification settings or the unsubscribe link.
Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed we delete or anonymize it.
International transfers
Depending on your location, your data may be processed in other countries. Where applicable, we implement safeguards consistent with local laws.
Children
Before Day Zero is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect product, legal, or regulatory changes. Material updates will be noted in the app or by email when appropriate.
