What is Before Day Zero?
A preparedness platform for ordinary households. It counts what you have on hand, tells you how many days it covers, and gives you a protocol that raises that figure.
What are days of supply?
The number of days your household could hold out on the water, food, power, and medication you have now. The shortest of the four tracks sets the figure, and expiring items drop out as they age.
What is a protocol?
A written plan built from the threat brief you choose and the household you describe: ordered tasks, a rally point, a supply list, and the checklists that earn certifications.
What are threat briefs?
Scenario summaries such as grid failure, water contamination, or an evacuation order. Pick the one most likely where you live and your protocol is written around it.
What are certifications?
Checklists of real tasks. Finish every task and the certification is yours; progress you have already earned carries over.
What is a Circle?
An invite-only group, such as a street, a building, or a family across town, that shares rally points and skills so people are coordinated before anything happens.
How do rally points work?
Set and share meeting spots with notes and routes. Everyone in your Circle knows where to go when phones are down.

Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern browser, and the iOS app is in the App Store. Inventory and days of supply are computed on your device and work with no signal.
Is it free?
Creating an account and using the household tools is free. No card is required.
Where do the tips and checklists come from?
Emergency management guidance and public sources, adapted for household use. Sources are cited inside the relevant modules.
Is my data private?
Household inventory is stored on your device first and synced to your account. We collect only what the account and features need. The privacy policy has the details.
How do I get started?
Create an account, log your inventory, and read your days of supply. Then pick a threat brief and start the first task on your protocol.
